Like so many Mainers, Tim grew up learning the value of hard work, helping your neighbors, and showing up when people need you most. That’s what led him into over two decades of service in public safety, answering calls in moments of crisis, standing beside families on their hardest days, and doing the work most people never see, but everyone depends on.
Those experiences shaped him. They showed him both the strength of our communities and the struggles too many families are facing today.
Tim sees it in the rising cost of living that’s stretching working families thin. He hears it from parents worried about the future their kids will inherit. And he feels it in the quiet concern that Maine is drifting away from the values that once made it a place where you could build a life, not just get by.
That’s why he’s stepping forward.
Tim believes in conservative principles, but more than that, he believes in the Maine people. He believes the government should answer to the people, not the other way around. And he believes District 85 deserves a representative who will listen, show up, and fight for them every single day.

Tim Nickels will stand firmly with law enforcement, firefighters, and EMS, because he has worked alongside them and understands the realities they face. He will fight to ensure officers are fully supported, properly equipped, and not hindered by politics or unnecessary restrictions. Tim believes cooperation between local, state, and federal agencies is essential for officer safety and stronger, safer communities.
Making Maine Affordable Again
Tim believes hardworking families in District 85 are being squeezed by rising costs in every direction. He is focused on restoring affordability by addressing the cost of housing, energy, and everyday essentials so families can stop struggling just to stay afloat—and start building a future again.
Tim believes government should serve the people, not itself. He will work to bring transparency, responsibility, and common-sense decision-making back to Augusta. That means cutting through bureaucracy, listening to local voices, and ensuring elected leaders are accountable to the communities they represent.
